Carpet of Caucasus "Kazakhs" are recognizable by their geometric patterns and warm colours, the knotting of carpets is one of the oldest traditions Azeri. The knotters have, over the centuries, passed their art from generation to generation. The colors and patterns, dating back to the original manufacture of carpets, are respected. Some antique carpets are exposed in museums such as the Louvre in Paris, the Metropolitan in New York or the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.
Carpets from the Caucasus are mainly; BAKU, SHIRVAN, DAGESTAN, DERBENT, GANJA, KARABAKH, KAZAK, KHILA, KOUBA, MUGAN, PEREPEDIL, SEIKHOUR, TALICH, CHECHEN.
The Eastern Caucasus carpets have bright colors and are finely woven with many small patterns repeated and intermixed. This eastern area is divided into three regions: Northern carpets are known under the name of Kouba. a little further to the South, are the Palace, the area north of the city of Baku produced carpets characteristics and various qualities. Prayer of the Eastern Caucasus carpets are particularly fine.
