Ghom is a holy city south of Iran producing very high quality rugs that are finely knotted. They closely resemble Isfahan and Naeens and it often takes an expert to tell them apart. Striking blue, green and red shades are used on an ivory base with various designs, sometimes inspired by Ardebil, Herati, and Djosheghan patterns, while others use vase, flowers and the tree of life. One type also features animals. For more information about Persian rugs, click here!
