Carpets made Konia hand, Turkey.

The three regions of production are the West, Centre and East.

Carpets of cities are primarily from the western regions while nomads are predominant in Eastern Turkey.

Here are the main features of Turkish carpets: symmetrical node type, coarse and medium density, from 600 to 1400 the dm² knots.

The warp and weft are wool in most villages and nomadic carpets. The frame is often dyed red, but also available in Brown and yellow.

The chain and the fabric of the carpet of city is cotton. Silk enhances only details in villages and nomadic carpets. Some cities are entirely in silk: sometimes, it is used only for velvet.

Dyes and colors correspond to the chromatic scale. Colors like purple, yellow, orange, green, and salmon characterize the carpet. Red-violet is extracted from cochineal. Chestnuts are very corrosive.

The most common have a dimension of 0.60 m x 1.20 m to 1,80 m to 2, 75 m. There are a variety of prayer rug.
